Police Officers
information about policing the islands of Bermuda

If you are considering contacting the Bermuda Police to provide intelligence, for advice or in respect of an investigation or suspect, exercise caution. Just because you are a well meaning professional it does not follow that everyone who holds the title 'police officer' is.  Some 'interesting' information is held under 'dirty cops'

February 2005: in the last 3 months we have seen an officer sentenced to 25 years for paedophilia, a former officer arrested on drug smuggling charges, a Chief Inspector suspended for allegedly stealing (again?), narcotics officers (yes plural!) recommended for prosecution for attempting to pervert the course of justice and assault together with an officer apparently being investigated for downloading pornography

So what are the odds of encountering an officer in Bermuda who is not associated with some allegation?

the author of this site worked with Jonathan Smith, George Jackson and Carlton Adams and therefore has first hand experience of them.
Commissioner of Police Jonathan Smith   a caretaker commissioner?  During their term in office, has any other Commissioner been confronted with so many serious allegations against serving officers?  Has any other Commissioner  made so little difference to the force? A personable enough chap but what good for the force and Bermuda?
Deputy Commissioner of police George Jackson   In a competent, real and professional police service, George may have made the rank of Inspector; no insult is intended to inspectors.  Click here for more information.  Known for his temper and inability to concentrate on two things at once.  As sharp as a marble.
Assistant Commissioner of police
Carlton Adams
We have every reason to doubt this man's honesty. Carlton is a nasty bit of work who is not to be trusted and we say this with very good reason; Click here for more information. Carlton is not where he is today due to ability as an officer.  Do not turn your back on him.
Tory Darrell   2004: former officer arrested with a serving officer - suspected of trafficking 6 kilos of heroin intended for Bermuda.
Detective Constable Trevor Knight   2004: narcotics investigation botched! Nothing changes, it is reminiscent of the Dillas enquiry involving George Jackson in 1990 - at least in 2004 DC Knight used dummy packages.  In 1990, George Jackson, now Deputy Commissioner of police, let the original drug go - 8 ounces of cocaine!
Devon Richardson   2004: allegedly a drug importers' contact in Bermuda
Detective Sergeant Roger Saints   2004: boyfriend of Devon Richardson (above).
John White   2004: convicted of buggery and sentenced to 25 years imprisonment.
Rickie Joseph   persecuted for 'desertion' - case dismissed
375
Rudi
Richardson
Rudolph Gideon Richardson, Detective Constable 375.  From the islands, an officer who had joined the narcotics department shortly before the author of this site.  A person with whom the author would regularly patrol.  Questioned during the author's service about exporting too much currency - no disciplinary or formal action!
Detective Constable Alex Severin   a danger to himself and now an 'expert witness' for narcotics values!
Inspector Minors   whilst visiting the UK, we had the chance to meet up with this officer.  He appears to have a problem with Human Rights (free speech) and answering questions - his general response to questioning .... a silent stare.  We formed the impression that his mind may have 'locked up' despite our trying to keep the questions simple.  We did not engage in a battle of wits with this unarmed opponent.

Former officers:

Detective Inspector  Hull   Norell Hull, from the islands.  Not a pleasant person to deal with; reasonable to your face but appeared to have his own agenda.  This site will touch on this later.

Bermudapolicerecord is not a official Bermuda Police web site but independently maintained.  However, the diary entries are an accurate representation of former Detective Constable 217's
daily diary of activities on the island's of Bermuda from 1988 to 1991.  The officer probably had the highest arrest and conviction record on the island.  However, he was eventually the subject of unsubstantiated petty allegations in respect of which the island's police service, in breach of its own disciplinary regulations, did not hold a disciplinary hearing.  Instead, the then Commissioner of Police Clive Donald, declined to renew the officer's contract.  For further information, please follow the links: Complaint / Subverted & Betrayed / Back-Stabbing
